We are pleased to announce the acquisition of Southland Block in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  The purchase was effective Monday, May 14, 2012. Headwaters Construction Materials (HCM) is very excited to expand our business into Louisiana and have the ability to introduce more product line into this market. 
 

On September 17, 2010 Headwaters Construction Materials (HCM) acquired the assets of Western Brick and Stone located at 7620 Washington Avenue in Houston, Texas.  Western Brick’s complete line of clay brick is a wonderful complement to HCM’s existing block and concrete brick business. 

Western Brick will be a distributor of 10-15 different clay brick lines, and will distribute an extensive line of mexican brick.  In addition Western Brick will display and distribute Eldorado Stone and Tapco products.    

A significant percent of Western Brick’s business in the past has come from the sale of antique brick.  This popular brick has been reclaimed off of many vintage buildings, from across the country, dating back to the 1800’s.  It is especially suited for ground up new construction projects as well as restoration projects.  None of today’s brick manufacturers have been successful in replicating the true quality and aesthetic beauty which makes antique brick so attractive. 

Headwaters is very excited about this acquisition and looks forward to a long, successful future in the clay brick business.
